Rookie MistakeGeneralAttempt to use Ferro Flask with none remaining.Unmissable eventually — every player taps the flask on empty at least once. If you insist on sequencing it, burn a charge at a lantern and tap heal.
Aggressive ReconnaissanceGeneralHidden story achievement — the public list ships it spoiler-protected. Unlocked by early-campaign progression.Progress the main path through the opening chapters; it pops on the route, not off it.
Mind the GapGeneralDie by falling into the abyss. The arenas have edges and the plague makes you careless. Miss one dash near a cliff and the achievement is yours. Most players earn it honestly.
In the Nick of TimeGeneralInteract with a lantern while below 20% health and no flasks remaining.A survival habit turned achievement: fight a patrol down to dangerous levels, spend your last flask, and light the next lantern before healing anywhere else. Do it deliberately once and it is done.
Single StrokeCombatShoot off a Risen Grenadier's bucket.Aim at the metal bucket helm as the fight opens — one firearm hit to the helmet dislodges it and exposes the head for the rest of the fight. See the Risen Grenadier page.
Torn BannerBossesDefeat General Lothaire, the Eagle-Bearer.Story boss of the early campaign — see the Lothaire boss page for the posture loop that beats him.
God's TriggerCombatLand 10 consecutive headshots or weak point hits without missing.Build the streak on stationary or staggered targets: dislodged-bucket Grenadiers, Spewers on walls, staggered elites. Any non-weak-point hit resets the count — fire only when the shot is free.
Ultima Ratio RegumBossesDefeat The Iron Marshall.Mid-campaign posture exam — bring an upgraded melee weapon. Full loop on the Marshall page.
Symphony of SteelCombatPerform 10 parries without taking damage. The parry exam in achievement form. Practice on Risen Soldiers or a single Duellist, reset the moment you are hit, and count out loud — the streak breaks on chip damage too.
Flame FeastCombatSet 4 enemies on fire with a single flamethrower use.Wait for a pack — Howlers and Civilians cluster beautifully — and sweep the burn across all of them in one activation. Pull a wide group before spending the use.
Not a Cat PersonBossesDefeat The Sphinx.Plague-beast boss fight — movement-first play, punish the lunge. Full breakdown on the Sphinx page.
Fight Fire With FireCombatIgnite an enemy while you are also ignited.Stand in a torch trap or let a burning enemy tag you, then flamethrower anything while the burn is still on you. Deliberate, silly, quick.
QuixotryBossesDefeat The Slaughtermill.Industrial arena boss — fight in lanes, respect the machinery. Full loop on the Slaughtermill page.
My Dying BrideBossesDefeat The Bride. The horror centrepiece — parry the anchor hits and punish the heavy commitment. Full breakdown on the Bride page.
True OathBossesDefeat High Justicar Aurelius, Last of the Faithful. The parry exam of the campaign. Second beat of each chain is the anchor — full drill on the Aurelius page.
Hand in the JarGeneralHidden achievement — the public list ships it spoiler-protected.Details added once the community verifies the unlock condition. Story-progress players report it on later paths.
BladesmithCollectionUpgrade a single melee weapon to maximum.Pick your main melee weapon in the first third of the campaign and never split upgrade materials. The Iron Marshall fight is the deadline the game has in mind.
Lament of The LimbsBossesDefeat Experiment 83.Assembled-horror boss — burn pressure and one behavior at a time. Full loop on the Experiment 83 page.
Gun of GloryCollectionUpgrade a single firearm to maximum.Same discipline as Bladesmith, ranged edition: one firearm, maxed. The Blunderbuss is the community's usual pick for the endgame spread value.
Statue of InsanityCombatFully lock Remnant of the Iron Regiment enemy in Stasis.Stack Stasis tools and spend them on the Remnant's aimed attack — the longest wind-up in the regular game. Full walkthrough on the Remnant page.
Blood and WineGeneralHidden achievement — the public list ships it spoiler-protected.Details added once the community verifies the unlock condition. Late-campaign progression players report it.
BirdwatcherGeneralHidden achievement — the public list ships it spoiler-protected.Details added once the community verifies the unlock condition. Watch the skies — and this page, once verified.
Arsenal AbsoluteCollectionUnlock all weapons and transmutations. The collection arc of the campaign: buy, find and unlock every arsenal entry. The completion checklist sequences it around the late-game cleanup pass.
Transmutation ArtifexCollectionUpgrade a single Transmutation to maximum.Pick the transmutation your build actually casts — the flamethrower for most builds — and push it to max alongside your weapon upgrades.
Coup de GrâceBossesDefeat The Orphan.Agility boss — whiff punish the commitments. Full breakdown on the Orphan page.
BehemothBossesDefeat Nephtis Superioris.Endgame scale fight — the whole syllabus at once. Full loop on the Nephtis Superioris page.
WindhoverCombatKill 3 enemies with pistol while Airborne Aiming.Jump, aim, fire. Weak grounded enemies — Civilians or wounded Howlers — are the honest targets; three mid-air pistol kills, not necessarily one jump.
In His Own ImageBossesDefeat The Entity. The campaign climax — phases change the rhythm, so re-learn before spending. Full loop on The Entity page.
AmbersmithCollectionGather all Ambers. The Metroidvania collectible arc — sweep each area systematically and revisit sealed spots after movement upgrades. The completion checklist keeps the route.
The Bitter CureGeneralHidden achievement — the public list ships it spoiler-protected.Details added once the community verifies the unlock condition. Late-game story players report it.
Aerial AnnihilationCombatKill an enemy with a headshot after a wall jump.Chain movement tech into marksmanship: wall jump off any arena wall and land a headshot before touching ground. Staggered enemies make the headshot part honest.
HoodsnatcherCombatDecapitate 3 enemies with a single Claymore attack.Line up three weak enemies — Civilians in a corridor are the classic setup — and swing the Claymore through all of them at head height. Alignment is the whole skill.
Nephtis SuperiorisCollectionObtain all achievements. The platinum — every other entry on this page, plus the story's ending. Do the boss hunts and hidden achievements last; the completion checklist orders the cleanup.
We Wear the Same ColorsCollectionDefeat all Eternal Guardists. The elite hunt: every Eternal Guardsman on the map, found and felled. Track your kills as you go — the guards are optional, and optional enemies are easy to leave unfought.
ScattershotCombatKill 5 enemies with a single Blunderbuss shot.A five-enemy line and one trigger pull. Pull a crowd of Civilians into a doorway, let them compress, and fire at point-blank. The hardest part is resisting the melee instinct.
Abyssal EvictionCombatKill an enemy by pushing them into the abyss with Shield Bash.Fight near a drop, stagger a light enemy, and shove it over with the Shield Bash. Any abyss edge works — Mind the Gap players already know where the edges are.
Frenzied FlameCollectionIgnite the bonfire in the castle.A late-game exploration beat — find the castle bonfire and light it. Story players pass it naturally; completionists sweep the castle for it.
Jack-knifeCollectionDeal damage with every melee weapon, firearm, and transmutation without dying. The no-death arsenal tour: one hit from every owned weapon and transmutation in a single life. Do it mid-campaign on easy patrols, not during boss prep — and bank the run at a lantern before trying anything risky.
The Book of BeastsGeneralHidden achievement — the public list ships it spoiler-protected.Details added once the community verifies the unlock condition. The name suggests the bestiary itself — completionists, you already know what to do.

The Shape of the List

Valor Mortis ships 39 achievements: ten boss hunts, a combat school of parry and marksmanship streaks, a collection arc through the arsenal and the Ambers, and a handful of story beats Steam keeps spoiler-protected. Half the list will fall out of a normal campaign — the other half is a deliberate cleanup season, and the completion checklist sequences it so nothing needs a second full playthrough.

Boss Trophies

Every named encounter carries its own trophy, from Torn Banner (General Lothaire, 30.1%) down to In His Own Image (The Entity, 0.6%). They unlock on defeat with no extra conditions, so the boss hub doubles as the trophy roadmap: beat the campaign, own ten trophies.

The Combat School

Symphony of Steel (ten clean parries) and God's Trigger (ten weak-point hits without a miss) are the two skill certificates the list hands out early, and every later combat achievement — Flame Feast's four-enemy burn, Scattershot's five-body Blunderbuss line — is the same idea with a prop. Drill them on weak enemies; the skills are the same ones the bosses grade.

Hidden Story Achievements

Six achievements ship with spoiler-protected descriptions — the story's secrets, kept as secrets. They unlock through normal story progression for almost every player. This page lists them honestly as hidden and fills in verified conditions as the community maps them; no guessed spoilers here.

Unlocks rates shown throughout this page are the global Steam snapshot of October 15, 2026 — two days after launch. They will climb fast; the ordering rarely changes.
